- 25g butter
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ————————-
- 50g butter
- 50g soft cheese
- 50g plain chocolate, melted
- 75g icing sugar
- Preheat the oven to 160C. Line two round cake tins with baking parchment.
- Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until fully combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder and mix in.
- Add the mashed banana and melted chocolate and mix well.
- Spoon the mixture into the lined tins and smooth the top.
- To make the crumble topping, in a small bowl, rub together the butter and flour, then, mix in the sugar. Sprinkle over one of the cake mixes in the tins.
- Bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until a skewer, inserted, comes out clean.
- To make the filling, in a small bowl, mix together the butter, soft cheese, melted chocolate and icing sugar until smooth. When the cakes are cool, spread it over the cake without the crumble topping.
- Sandwich the two cakes together and drizzle some melted chocolate on top of the crumble.
You can also crumble 2 tbsp pecans and add them to the crumble topping if you like that nuttiness.
